The SATELLINE-3AS Epic is a radio modem operating on the UHF (330 … 470 MHz) band in half-duplex mode for the transparent transfer of asynchronous data, with output power of 10 W and diversity reception.
The 'Space Diversity' reception function, that can be activated from the configuration menu, makes it possible to use both the receivers. Then, the modem can make a selection from two signals coming from different areas, thus choosing the best one. In this way, the reliability of a radio link can be improved whenever several reflections are present, that could cause a fading of the radio signal in some areas.

It can be used as receiver while continuing working as a local radio transceiver.
It has the ‘Message Routing’ function that makes it possible to implement extended radio networks easily. The ‘Message Routing’ protocol sets the data packets on the radio network.
The error rate when interferences are present can be minimised through the FEC (Forward Error Correction) function.
The modem has the Free Channel Scanning (FCS).
It is available also in the version with LCD display and keypad (SATELLINE-3ASd Epic) and in the Dual Band version (SATELLINE-3AS Epic DB) as well as in the version with embedded heat sink, necessary when the duty cycle in transmission is > 10% (SATELLINE-3AS Epic C).
It is compatible with SATELLINE-3AS and SATELLINE-EASy.
